The
collection from the Maria Adriana Prolo Fund is
the most considerable one counting 387 among short
and long feature films, mostly produced by Itala
Film and Ambrosio.
Among the most relevant works are "La Guerra
e il sogno di Momi" by Segundo de Chòmon,
"Cenere" by Luigi Maggi, "Gelosia"
by Augusto Genina, "Maciste Alpino" by
Luigi Maggi and Luigi Romano Borgnetto, "La
Signora delle camelie" by Gustavo Serena.
Over the years the number of collected works has
increased thanks to several donations and acquisitions:
the Giovanni Pastrone Collection gathers important
films such as "Cabiria", "Il Fuoco",
"La caduta di Troia", "Tigre Reale";
the Desmet Collection, acquired from the Nederland
Film Museum, thanks to which the first works produced
in Torino for the foreign market were retrieved,
includes works such as "Gli ultimi giorni di
Pompei" by Giovanni Pastrone, and "Sogno
di un tramonto d'autunno" by Maggi, "Il
padrone delle Ferriere" by Eugenio Perego,
and "Le comiche" by Cretinetti and Polidor.
The Silent film section also includes a significant
collection of historical, medical and naturalist
documentaries, such as "L'ascensione al Cervino"
and "La spedizione all'Himalaya" by Mario
Piacenza, "Viaggio del Duca degli Abruzzi al
K2" by Vittorio Sella, "L'esposizione
del 1911 a Torino" and "Carosello storico"
del 1925
